This one of my all-time favorite apps. ibotta is super simple to use and if you take the effort to plan your shopping ahead of time, you will be earning cashback and giftcards in no time. Not only can you put the cash in your pocket through Paypal or Venmo, but they also have gift cards to places that fill up your tank, like Sam’s Club and WalMart.

Make your grocery and household list so that you know what you need to buy. Determine where you will be shopping. Hint: WalMart has the most grocery and household rebates currently on ibotta. Take a peek at what rebates match the items on your list and denote that on your list. Don’t buy anything that you don’t need just because you get a rebate – that’s why I make the list of what I need first! ibotta also offers savings on apparel, automotive, medication, travel and a whole lot more. Once you signup, you will be able to peruse the app and get a feel for how easy it is to get cash back on the items you already intend to purchase.
Current Offer: The folks at ibotta are currently offering $10 back the first time you use ibotta to record your purchases and redeem your savings. That’s pretty awesome because the minimum cash out is $20 and that puts you half the way there to earning cash or a giftcard toward your gas!
I do quite a bit of online shopping since it’s not always convenient to get to stores. My love of online shopping started when our son was a baby – I couldn’t sling a 40-lb bag of dog food around with a baby carrier on my other arm! That’s ok – Ebates offers you the ability to get cash back on the convenience of shopping online. You receive monies back quarterly through methods that you can choose – a check, direct deposit or gift cards (which often come with a percentage bonus if you choose that route).

I use the extension for my Internet Explorer browser and also have it as an app on my phone incase I need to make a quick purchase. My favorite feature on the IE browser extension is the ability to apply the Ebates tracking code as soon as you enter the website (you click a button when prompted). It also provides you with a quick check of all the coupon codes registered in their system to save you the most money at checkout. Win-win!
We use Ebates for quite a bit of our online shopping, including items we purchase on Amazon, but also to book my husband’s work travel. I wish we were able to book his flights, but we are still able to receive a small amount of cash back on his airport parking and occasionally his hotel stays if the price is right. Every little bit adds up!
This is one of my favorite clubs that few people know about! If you are a camper, you likely use the Good Sam Club to save 10% off of campsites, but did you know that it has a fuel savings? If you live near a Pilot or Flying J, or even if they are on your route, you’ll save money on gas and diesel. You save 5 cents on each gallon of gas and 8 cents on each gallon of diesel fuel when you swipe your Good Sam Club membership card at the pump.
Membership is currently $27 for the year. If you used it solely to purchase gasoline, you would need to fill up with 540 gallons to make up the membership purchase. If your rig uses diesel, you need to fill up with 338 gallons to make your money back on the membership purchase. If you plan on camping, you will also receive 10% off of your camping reservation at over 2100 campgrounds – you will easily make your money back here!
While Kroger grocery stores are not throughout the entire US, there are hundreds of them throughout the Southeast and other areas. Kroger offers 10 cents off each gallon of gas for every 100 Kroger points you receive. If you do your grocery shopping at a Kroger store, it’s simple to rack up a couple hundred points per month for a family; however, there are easy ways to earn additional points.

Purchasing gift cards to stores and websites you frequent at Kroger is a fast way to earn extra fuel rewards. Kroger offers 2x fuel points each day on gift card purchases. This means that if you buy a $50 Amazon Gift card, you receive 100 point – that’s 10 cents on each gallon of gas or diesel, up to 35 gallons per purchase. At certain times of the year, you receive 4x fuel points on gift cards – that would be 200 points on a $50 gift card, or 20 cents off at the pump. (Please note: There are some exclusions on gift cards, so check before you buy.) You can combine up to 1000 points in one given month to receive a total of $1.00 off per gallon, up to 35 gallons per fuel up.
